Département de Rome

In 1808, France annexed the Papal States and created the Département du Tibre, renamed the Départemement de Rome in 1810.  The department was disbanded in 1814 and the Papal States were restored to Pope Pius VII.  The territory of the Département de Rome roughly corresponded to the modern Province of Lazio.
