Lanman & Kemp Correspondence from Malaysia

Penang, June 17, 1871, carried entirely out of the mails, Simon De Visser New York forwarding agent marking.  The letter was carried out of the mails by the P&O Line Australia departing Penang June 19, 1871, and arriving at Suez, July 13, 1871 where it transferred to the Nyanza at Alexandria July 15, Brindisi July 18.  It was likely carried by the Cunard Line Parthia of the HAPAG Holsatia to New York.
