Valparaiso, October 1, 1860, enters the mails Valparaiso, indistinct date, PAID-TO-PANAMA in red, manuscript 2/- rate marking, per Pacific Steam Navigation Co. British packet to Panama, and Atlantic and Pacific Steamship Co to New York.  Indistinct Panama transit marking, New York "STEAMSHIP 20" rated 20¢ due as a double weight incoming steamship letter.

 

Valparaiso, March 1, 1864, enters the mails Valparaiso, indistinct date, PAID-TO-PANAMA in red, manuscript 1/- rate marking, per Pacific Steam Navigation Co. British packet to Panama, and Atlantic and Pacific Steamship Co to New York.  Panama March 21, 1864 transit marking, New York "STEAMSHIP 10" rated 10¢ due as an incoming steamship letter.

Valparaiso, Chile, October 18, 1865,  1/- rate marking, indistinct PAID-TO-PANAMA in red, per Pacific Steam Navigation Co. British packet to Panama, and Atlantic and Pacific Steamship Co to New York.  Panama November 4, 1865 transit marking, New York "STEAMSHIP 10" rated 10¢ due as incoming steamship letter, regardless of distance.

 

Valparaiso, Chile, June 17, 1868, Valparaiso Crown Circle, paid 1 shilling postage per Pacific Steam Navigation Co. British packet to Panama, July 4, 1868 transit, then per Pacific Mail Steamship Co. to New York.  July 12, 1868, N.Y. Steamship, rated 10¢ due as incoming steamship letter, regardless of distance.
